April 2018 TAMU-VET Exercise in Texas

Five PCART members traveled to TX to work with TAMU-VET using their equipment to respond to mock scenario.  EXERCISE! EXERCISE! EXERCISE!

The mock scenario began with explosions at a Plastic Plant and then increased in complexity when radiation contaminated a cooling pond.  Animals and humans, including Search and Rescue dogs required sheltering, triage and treatment, decontamination, transport to shelters, and reunification with owners/handlers.

We also learned to donn and doff several types of PPE, and realized that it is exhausting to try to work while wearing it!
