Whether you would like to become a Team Member or consider being a Resource for PCART, we are anxious to hear from you! Please read the FAQ below and then choose the form you would like to fill out. Note that if you wish to Volunteer with PCART you must register as a volunteer with the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corp and list small animal and/or large animal work as a "skill." Q: What is a County Animal Response Team (CART)?
A: Animal health care professionals, other interested parties, and animal lovers working together to help their community prepare for, mitigate (lessen the intensity of the impact), respond to, and recover from: emergencies, disasters, and subsequent animal health issues. Teams benefit from properly credentialed and trained volunteer Team Members, plus additional Resources available and ready should the need arise.
Q: Who can be a Team member?
A: Anyone over 18 can be a full team member. Special jobs and tasks can be developed for Junior Team members.
Q: What is required to be a Team member?
A: All team members must complete a series of 4 FREE online training courses at OKMRC.org, and a background check. Once you submit a Volunteer Form you will receive additional information directing you to the training site. After MRC registration is complete you will receive a badge identifying you as a Certified MRC volunteer.
Q: What is a Resource?
A: A Resource is an individual, a business, or another organization that is a source of help or information for PCART. A Resource can be a reserve supply of equipment, supplies, personnel, and/or a location. Some examples of resources are: the use of a boarding, grooming, and/or training facility, tractor, truck and livestock trailer, parcel of land, or livestock holding areas or services. Some resources are donated, while others may be provided at a price, which is often reduced.

A: PCART is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization that is affiliated with the Payne County Office of Emergency Management. The Director of the Office of Emergency Management is Jeff Kuhn.
