description
This Exercise is a short Table Top Exercise (TTX) based on feedback from the March 2018 Full-Scale Exercise presented by PCART, OLAFR, and TAMU-VET. A disaster scenario specific to events that could take place in Payne County, Oklahoma, and specific animal related injects were developed by TAMU-VET in 2018 and this exercise will include discussion of issues that needed improvement.
This Table Top Exercise (TTX) is targeted to animal response team members, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians, however first responders who are interested in future animal response participation are also welcome. The TTX will include a quick review of the need for animal response and how teams are organized in Oklahoma, use of Incident Command System, presentation of a disaster scenario, and then group problem solving and discussion about issues ("injects") that arise. As of Feb 1 about half of the registered participants are experienced and half new potential volunteers.
Potential volunteers who have not completed OK-MRC training are welcome, however in order to participate in future deployments online MRC training and credentialing will be required. Handouts on how to proceed will be provided.
Although the details of the TTX will depend on the number and experience of registered participants, the exercise scenario may cover:
